Side-Effects of Alcohol and Cocaine After 8 Hours?

Question by AC: Side-Effects of Alcohol and Cocaine After 8 Hours?
Hi. My friend was at a music festival last night and ended up drinking ~5 drinks on an empty stomach, and according to her a 1/4 gram of cocaine (she’s never done any drugs before). She woke up this morning (it’s been about 8 hours) and she seems fine but she’s concerned her heart’s beating fast (about 130bpm) and she has cold sweat. She’s breathing fine and may be hungover but those are the only other symptoms. Should we be concerned? Should her heart still be beating this fast?

It’s probably the end of the effects of the alcohol and cocaine leaving her system (cocaine can make your heart beat a lot faster than 130bpm). Both drugs are bad, and in combination, are even more dangerous, so I hope your friend knows what she’s doing.

Cocaine is known to make your heart beat faster and to raise your body temp. It’s like a stimulant. BUT the drug wears off pretty quickly. Once it wears off, she may be nervous, depressed or anxious and she may want to do it again. Cocaine can kill because it makes your heart beat abnormally. Other than that, you shouldn’t really be concerned!
