I Need Some Help With Kicking a Drug Habit?

Question by OliverDJ: I need some help with kicking a drug habit?
are there any breathing or relaxation or any kind of comfort methods at all that i can use to get through this? i got through the worst of my withdrawal at a hospital, but its really not over. i was there for five days and was released, but i still don’t feel quite right. i still feel constantly tired, weak, and sick all the time. im still constantly achey and sore, and i’ve been throwing up. believe me, if this sounds bad, it was much worse through detox, but my doctor said its going to take a while for my body to feel back to normal, and that i’ll have good and bad days. i also asked about stress, because the psychological withdrawal has been hell for me. a lot of the nausea and things like that are probably stress induced or from lack of sleep, though im not positive on that one.

are there any methods known to help relax or to be more comfortable? right now i’ve just been taking it easy. i mostly stay in bed and watch movies. i try to lay on my side and hold a body pillow, and then i breathe in through the nose out through the mouth to help with feeling/being sick. the aches can get really bad at times, so i try to get comfortable and lay still, but i know a lot of this is mental, and i get so irritated with my cravings that its hard for me to lay still.

also, relaxation is really important to me because right now i’ll feel fine, and then out of nowhere i get so pissed off, i get worried, i get sad. every little thing makes me frustrated with being sober and i just want to turn to getting high. when i get upset like that, the physical symptoms obviously get worse. its a bad cycle.

any suggestions? thank you.
i use pot almost every day, and i use ecstasy and cocaine pretty regularly. probably 2 or three times a week. i also have done meth occasionally.

Thanks for the additional details. Well it sounds like you got your work cut out for you sweetie. Well I used to do drugs when i was 14 until i was 16. You’re going to have to change everything. Find new friends, find a new spot to hang out, and ultimately just cut off everything from that lifestyle. Weed won’t result in physical withdrawal symptoms. But some people do have psychological problems. For the cocaine you’re probably going to need a drug counseling program. You could go to N.A. (Narcotics Anonymous) which is free and they always welcome new people. Ecstacy is tricky because they could contain cocaine and meth. You never know what you’re getting. If you’re feeling the need to pop a pill you should see a doctor and pinpoint what exactly you’re going to need to quit. As far as the meth goes if you’re not addicted then there’s no reason to see a doctor about it. But if you are, then you’re going to need treatment. They have medicines to help you kick the meth.

Last resort is seeking rehabilitation and take into consideration everything said in the above. I hope this helps and I wish you luck with this. I’m glad you’re trying to quit.
