I believe there’s alot of illegal narcotics that should be made available for medicinal use. I think doctors are way to stinjy when it comes to handing out pain meds for people that genuinely need them. I know alot of people with pain issues that have to obtain their relief by purchasing drugs off the streets. If some of the street drugs were legalized, and taxed, I believe the crime rates and drug abuse would go down, and the government would also come out ahead from the taxes paid for the purchases. I’m all for it!

It shouldnt be a controversial topic. If a substance is effective in treating an illness it should be used. Drugs come from many different places, for example digoxin, a drug for the heart comes from foxglove plants while aspirin comes from the willow tree. Patients use the drug to relieve symptoms, not to get high. The problem is abuse of a drug, thats not the case here. Cocaine is a local anasthetic, Diamorphine is a a potent pain killer, its use is uncontroversial in the uk however it is pretty much identical to heroin, but patients who are in severe pain rarely show signs of dependence. So its all about the context of use for a drug, in the right circumstance its not a narcotic but a medication.
