Question by Hayley: What kind of a counselor can you be with a bachelors in Sociology or Psychology?
I don’t want to move forward with my degree. Are there any options at all?

health councilor, they are like a psychologist but they do not write prescriptions.

In most states, no one with a bachelor’s degree can practice counseling independently.

In a few states, there is a “substance abuse counselor” credential which is licensed at the bachelor’s level. It requires more than just the bachelor’s degree, however (e.g., internship experience specific to substance abuse, substance abuse coursework).
